Truck driver killed in Costa Mesa crash; intersection to be closed for at least 6 hours

A chase through Los Angeles ended when two carjacking suspects tried to outrun authorities after a spike strip punctured a tire on their car.

COSTA MESA, Calif. (KABC) — A commercial truck driver was killed Monday morning in a major crash in Costa Mesa.

The collision occurred at the intersection of Fairview Road and Sunflower Avenue.

It’s unclear what caused the crash. The Costa Mesa Police Department said the area will be closed for about six hours as part of the investigation. Drivers are urged to take an alternate route.
